by Fraser Myers
We have become accustomed to the ‘two-tier policing’ of protests, where ‘pro-Palestine’ demos are exempted from Britain’s usually stringent hate-speech laws. Islamist and anti-Semitic protesters have been free to call for a violent ‘jihad’, to demand the genocidal destruction of Israel and to wave banners with swastikas, without any fear of being clamped down on by police. Now we might be seeing the emergence of ‘two-tier healthcare’, where opposition to Israel can get you bumped up to the front of an NHS waiting list.
Jess Phillips, Labour MP and Keir Starmer’s safeguarding minister, last night told an audience of north London theatregoers about a recent visit to A&E. After having difficulty breathing, she went to her local Birmingham hospital. She described the overcrowding she found there as akin to a ‘war zone’. Luckily for her, she was whisked to the front of the queue.
Apparently, a Palestinian doctor not only recognised Phillips as the local Labour MP, but also thanked her for opposition to Israel. ‘He was sort of like, “I like you. You voted for a ceasefire”. [Because of that] I got through quicker’, she admitted. Her political views, in other words, allowed her to receive preferential treatment.
I don’t know what’s more damning: that this took place or that Phillips gladly blabbed about it. Following her downplaying of Islamist thugs menacing journalists in her constituency, the Member for Birmingham Yardley already looks set to be a constant source of unwitting revelations for the media, and a constant PR headache for this already faltering Labour government.

If you are a UK resident or citizen, please consider filling out this form for the government. The corrupt, bastard billionaires in our government continue to cut and make life incredibly difficult for disabled and unwell people. They are making DRASTIC cuts to benefits for people who are in need and unable to work.
I guess they think we will be less trouble if they just kill us all with these cuts.
This does take a little time, but please consider offering support if you are able to help push back against this.
#british politics#uk politics#the bastards#keir starmer#disability#disability benefits#fuck the tories who spent 15 years gutting the government#and fuck keir starmer and labour for having absolutely no spine and being tories wearing a different colour jacket#protect disabled people#if you are not eligible please forward on to find others#rights for disabled people#i'm so tired#the worst part is they know that most of us do not have much energy to fight back and go to protests and make a big scene#stop blaming people in need for the fucking corrupt government falling apart#why are there so many billionaire MPs#and instead of looking in OUR bank accounts and getting mad that we bought a brand name cheese maybe look in the bank accounts of the#bastard billionaire MPs#please help

Anyone else feel like Labour are on track to become the new Lib Dems? The Lib Dems’ tuition fee betrayal was abhorrent, but Labour are really going for gold here, folks—deliberately targeting pensioners, disabled people, and low-income families while refusing to tackle wealth inequality. Feels like they’re setting themselves up to be yeeted into the sea come the next election.
Nothing like a bit of midweek doom, hey?
#i smell (another) labour wipeout in the future#if only they fucking remembered what their party was supposed to be about#all those mps who fought for the nhs and a living wage and maternity leave... for these fucking cockwombles#uk politics#labour#keir starmer#pip#disability benefits#socialism#working class#classism

if yall dont know whats happening in British politics right now, the guy who is like 90% likely to become the next pm, who is the leader of the (previously) more left wing party labour has been systematically removing all the left-wing MPs (members of parliament) who are likely to get re-elected and telling them they cannot stand as a labour MP at the election in july. he has been replacing them with people who are more right wing, for example one of them has a day job as a ceo of a privatised healthcare company, and another is literally an israel lobbyist. labour is becoming a right wing, racist, and blatantly pro-israel party. if labour gets in, it will no longer be "ohhh we totally cant take a stand on israel :///" they are likely to become explicitly pro-israel. they have abandoned all their left wing policies. they will be the tories 2.0, but worse in many areas. it feels like this country is copying americas lead with one more """left wing""" party whos campaign line seems to be "we're not as bad as the other guys!" whos policies suck ass as they can freely become more right wing and not what the public wants because "there's no better option". it SUCKS. and its NOT TRUE.
if you're in the uk, please look at your constituency and try to vote green, or independent, or whoever isnt labour or tory. party politics are failing us, we are NOT a two party country, we can do better than labour.
#HANG THAT GOVERNMENT.#lib dems policies arent great but at least they back suspending arms sales to israel#i didnt even touch on the shit they pulled with diane abbott or the other mps theyve blocked from standing#they literally waited until the last minute to tell them to make it harder for them to stand as independent#they would have waited longer! some of them were already campaigning!#im so disgusted i dont even have the words. genuinely this close to joining the green party and helping them campaign a bit#im waiting for my mp to be told shes not allowed to stand for labour bc she signed the ceasefire letter.#you know. the one kier fired people for signing.#ukpol

In 2025...
87% of countries violated the right to strike.
The right to strike enables workers to collectively stop working to advocate for their rights, for example, better pay and safer conditions.
-> Police brutality, arrests, prosecution, governments issue orders to unduly limit strikes, or render them illegal. The right to strike and peaceful assembly are criminalised, with organisers facing severe penalties, including prison sentences.
80% violated the right to collective bargaining.
The right to collective bargaining enables workers to negotiate with their employer via a representative trade union.
-> Employers routinely refuse to apply or violate collective bargaining agreements. Regressive reforms implemented by right wing governments reinforce the employer's power to impose working conditions.
72% of countries restricted workers’ access to justice—the worst figure recorded so far.
The right to access to justice gives workers the ability to seek and receive fair remedy through the legal system when their rights have been violated.
-> Union leaders are routinely detained and prosecuted on trumped-up charges, with trials characterised by a blatant disregard for due process and impartiality. Workers seeking redress for rights violations were systematically obstructed (delays, affordability, unfair dismissal...)
45% of countries restricted freedom of speech and assembly.
Free speech, freedom of expression, and the right to assembly are fundamental civil liberties that are vital for a healthy trade union movement.
-> Arbitrary arrests, detentions, and imprisonment. Unionists endure an alarming level of persecution across the world. Workers faced detention and prison sentences for exercising their union freedoms. Police conducted raids on union leaders’ homes. In France, several union offices were vandalised by far-right extremists. A unionist was attacked by his employer while supporting a colleague during a disciplinary procedure. French union officials have also been targeted with anonymous death threats. In Haiti, almost all union leaders and representatives have been forced to abandon their homes to escape armed gangs.
Ronaldo Geovany Gómez Godoy, a member of the National Union of Health Workers of Guatemala was killed on 23 September 2024 by hired assassins.
On 5 September, teacher René Sucup Morán, a union leader of Sindicato de Trabajadoras y Trabajadores de la Educación de Guatemala, was murdered by a hitman.
On 15 June 2024, Anastacio Tzib Caal, a leader in the network of textile maquila unions in Guatemala, was gunned down.
In South Africa, a strike at a multinational automotive manufacturer was violently dispersed by security guards, who opened fire on workers. One, Njabulo Mpulo, was killed and more than 10 others were hospitalised with severe injuries.
---
Today, a tiny fraction of the global population – less than 1% – controls nearly half of the world’s wealth. This concentration of economic power allows a small group of billionaires to exert outsized influence over global decision-making, including on labour rights and protections, which directly affect the lives of the workers who sustain the global economy. This coup on democracy is often orchestrated by far-right politicians and their unelected billionaire backers.
Authorities in an increasing number of countries are misusing legislative powers to stigmatise, weaken, and restrict the resources of the independent labour movement, civil society organisations, and the media. New laws targeting so-called “foreign influence” impose strict controls on non-governmental organisations classified as receiving “foreign funds” and engaging in “political activities”. The definitions of these terms are often deliberately broad and vague, tailored to silence those defending rights and freedoms in repressive states.
These laws are often introduced under the false pretence of safeguarding national security, and typically without any consultation with trade unions. They expand state surveillance powers of scrutiny and hinder unions from receiving support from international trade union bodies and human rights organisations. Beyond restricting resources, such measures suppress political dissent and promote the damaging narrative that the labour movement is unpatriotic or acting under foreign influence. Such a narrative discredits the image of unionists and emboldens repressive state authorities and exploitative employers.

Uhhh so apparently(?) my country’s ‘left wing’ government (realistically they’re centre-right and have been for a long time now) are now going to cut support for disabled people…and punish them if they’re not actively looking for work AND making it EVEN HARDER to claim benefits to help with said disabilities.
Oooh im about to go feral. How dare they fucking say they’re ’for the people’. Fucking liars. They’d rather sell out the most vulnerable to save money.
This country is a fucking joke.

Idk if this is like, taboo to say or something, but if the govt decided to introduce a “race tax” or a “gay marriage tax” or something along those lines, people would be up in arms from Durham to Devon. The comparison isn't perfect but that's exactly what they're doing right now; targetting disabled people specifically and punishing us for a trait we can't control. They are choosing to rip vital money from our community that we rely on and desperately need to survive only it's phrased as a savings not a tax. Yet people are quiet as mice now. We notice. We, your disabled friends, neighbours, siblings, parents, cousins, colleagues, grandparents, see your silence and we know what it means
